Promote Quotient Clinical’s concerns around transparency requirements for Phase I trials in the EU Clinical Trials Regulation and influence its implementation in the UK to avoid negatively impacting the commercial viability of Phase I trials in the UK.

GK helped to identify areas in the Regulation which could be influenced to avoid gold-plating the regulation that would make trials in the UK less attractive to foreign businesses. Once this argument was constructed and supported by evidence collated, GK secured high profile meetings for Quotient both within the UK (including Number 10 and the Life Sciences Minister) and the EU (including the European Medicines Agency). With Quotient Clinical, GK also galvanized industry opinion among Phase I units and arranged a roundtable meeting with the government and regulators to discuss an alternative solution.

The work delivered by GK eventually resulted in significant changes to the interpretation and implementation of the regulation in the UK which safeguarded the competitiveness of Phase I trials being conducted in the UK.
