Pride Month: Why GK are proud to Support

In recent decades, the UK has made strides to support the LGBTQ+ community. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and non-binary people certainly make a vital contribution to our culture and our economy. June 2019 is Pride Month in the UK.

The UK government has a proud record in advancing equality for the LGBTQ+ community. We are proud to say we are a diverse and tolerant society. The Equality Act 2010 consolidated all anti-discrimination legislation in Britain in one place. It defined sexual orientation as a ‘protected characteristic’ alongside sex, gender reassignment, disability, age, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity and religion and belief. This means everyone is protected from discrimination in and outside the workplace as a result.

From changing the law to allow same-sex couples to marry to introducing the world’s first transgender action plan in 2011, the UK government have certainly been at the forefront of change and here at GK we want to be recognised as an agency that embraces everybody, no matter what their gender or sexual orientation.

We want GK Strategy to be a great place to work! Then all the talented people we employ will stay with us and help us achieve great things. We are a people business and pride ourselves on the team we have created. We recognise diversity and though people have things in common with each other, they are also different in many ways. Inclusion is where those differences are seen as a benefit. And where perspectives and differences are shared, leading to better decisions. We believe that businesses are stronger and will deliver more effectively for their clients the more they embrace diversity in all its forms and recognise the value diversity can bring to decision making.

Pride Month: Our Custom Logo!

For this reason, we have designed our new logo which will be displayed during Pride Month to show our support to the LGBTQ+ community and show the importance of a diverse and equal society.
